Cookie policy
What we store in your browser. It is a short list, because we do not run advertising.
Draft. This document has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and is not in force. It is published in draft because you are entitled to see what we intend to commit to before you are asked to agree to anything.
What we use
A session cookie to keep you signed in. A small preference store for things like your light or dark theme choice. That is the functional set, and the service does not work without it.
What we do not use
No advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels, no third-party marketing tags. We do not sell audiences and we are not funded by advertising, so there is nothing for them to do here.
Analytics
We measure usage to find broken pages and slow ones: how long pages take to load and respond, and how often particular screens and buttons are used. This sets no cookie and reads none.
Your browser sends each measurement to our own servers, which add it to a total for the day and keep only that total. No account, session or device identifier and no IP address is stored with it, nothing you type is collected, and no analytics company receives it. The address a request comes from limits how many requests one address can send in a minute, and appears in our ordinary server logs like any other request; it is never stored with the totals. The daily totals are deleted after a fixed period, currently 400 days.
Managing them
Your browser can block or clear cookies. Blocking the session cookie will sign you out and keep you out; blocking the preference cookie simply loses your theme choice.
