Privacy policy

What personal information we hold, why, who else sees it, and what you can ask us to do with it.

Draft. This document has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer and is not in force. It is published in draft because you are entitled to see what we intend to commit to before you are asked to agree to anything.

What we collect

The contents of your CV and profile: employment history, education, qualifications, skills, contact details and the preferences that shape matching. The answers you approve for employer questions. Records of applications — which vacancy, when, what was sent, and the confirmation received.

Operational data: account and authentication records, billing records held by our payment processor, and technical logs needed to run and secure the service.

Usage measurement: daily totals of how quickly pages load and respond and how often features are used. Nothing that identifies you is kept with them; the cookie policy describes how they are collected.

Phone app diagnostics: when the Jobsizy app crashes, hits an error or stops responding, it sends a report the next time it opens, with how many of its sessions ended without a crash. Each install sends a random number that is not linked to your account, and email addresses, phone and other long numbers, sign-in tokens, folder names and web-address details are removed before a report is stored. Reports are deleted after a short period (30 days at present); the daily totals keep no install or account.

What we deliberately do not collect

Your job-board passwords. You sign in yourself and we never receive them.

Identity documents, unless you upload one yourself for your own reference. We never upload one to an employer on your behalf.

Sensitive information beyond what you choose to put in your profile. We do not ask for health information, criminal history or biometric data, and consequential declarations are left for you to answer directly on the employer’s form.

Why we hold it

To generate and submit your applications, to prepare you for the interviews they lead to, to provide support once you start a role, to bill you accurately, and to keep an honest record of what was submitted in your name.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with recruiters, advertisers or data brokers.

Who else sees it

Employers and job boards receive what any application contains — because that is the purpose of the service, and it is your application.

Our processors, listed in the sub-processors document: infrastructure, model providers used to generate documents and answers, email delivery and payment processing. Each receives only what its function requires.

We may disclose information where the law requires it. We will tell you where we are lawfully able to.

AI models and training

Your material is sent to model providers to generate your documents and answers. We do not use your content to train our own models, and we select providers on terms that do not permit training on it either.

Generated output is grounded in facts you approved. Anything that cannot be grounded is queued for you rather than produced.

Decisions Izy makes for you

Izy uses your profile, the role profiles you set up (the job titles, places, pay, industries and the minimum match you choose) and the job advertisement to make four kinds of decision without a person at Jobsizy looking at each one.

Matching: Izy scores how well each job fits a role profile and passes over a job that scores below the minimum match you set for that role. It only reads what you gave us and what the advertisement says.

Answering: Izy fills an employer’s question with an answer you approved for that role. A question it has no approved answer for comes to you; it does not guess.

Writing: Izy tailors your résumé and cover letter for each job from the facts in that role profile only. It is instructed not to add experience, qualifications or results you did not give us, and a separate automated review rejects a draft whose claims those facts do not support; neither is a guarantee. By default you check each set of documents before it is used; for a role you switch to automatic document review, Izy uses them without that check.

Sending: by default nothing is sent until you press Send. Izy sends an application by itself only for a role you have set to send automatically and approved, and you can switch that back at any time.

None of these decisions uses information you did not give us, and none decides anything about you beyond which jobs Izy prepares or sends for you. To have a person at Jobsizy look at a decision Izy made, for example a job it passed over, ask through the contact page.

How long we keep it

Application records are kept while your account is open, because they are the record of what was submitted in your name and you may need it later.

Delete your account and profile data is deleted; anonymised operational records may be retained where we are required to keep them. Exact retention periods: Not yet determined — this will be stated before commercial launch.

Your rights

You can download everything we hold about you, and delete your account, from Settings while you are signed in. Deleting removes your profile, your role profiles, every job match and application record, the answers you gave employers, and the documents generated for you — from our database and from storage. It cannot be undone.

For access to or correction of anything not covered there, use the contact page.

If you are unhappy with how we handle a request, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

Where data is held

Primarily in Australia. Some processors operate elsewhere; the sub-processors document names each one and its location.
